It is with deep regret and profound sadness I write to inform you that, following a recent committee meeting, the MGCCC committee has made the difficult decision to cease operations as of 3rd January 2026.  This date marks the conclusion of our first and now, only, New Year Rally.

 

This decision has not been taken lightly.  Despite our continued efforts, we have found a consistent lack of support, limited attendance at the few rallies that we have been able to secure and a steady decline in memberships. Based on current projections, our estimated forecast for 2026 membership would fall below the minimum number of 10 which is the minimum to keep any club running.  Throughout this year, it has been largely the same individuals attending, funding and supporting each of the rallies.

 

We have worked tirelessly to keep the club going, but with the rises for cost of living and ongoing competition from our sister clubs has significantly impacted our viability.  It is for these reasons that the committee has unanimously agreed that closing the club is the only remaining option.

 

Should you wish to continue your BL membership, we are negotiating with our sister clubs to ensure a smooth transition.

 

With regard to any surplus funds remaining in the MGCCC bank account, at the time of closure this will be donated to support nominated charities. This will be discussed further in our AGM meting due next Friday 26th September 2025 6.30pm start at Massey Fergussons Social Club, Broad Lane, Coventry.

 

We have two more rallies left for this season so it would be great to see you.  There are still spaces available – October half term at Woodlands Waters in Grantham and the final one at Barnstones from 28th December to say goodbye to MGCCC and welcome in 2026.
